Game Of Thrones Season 6 First Episodes

Image
My Thoughts On Game Of Thrones Season 6 So Far. This blog won't be too long considering I'm only on episode five of season 6 but some major stuff has already happened. The biggest thing to happen in the first to second episode is of course Jon Snow coming back to life because of the Red Woman. He was brought back the same way that dude with the sword that lights on fire was brought back, it has to do with the Lord of Light. So with Jon Snow coming back to life, he regains control of the Night's Watch but decided to not be the Lord Commander anymore. Then, Sansa Stark shows up with Brianne of Tarth protecting her from now on, they both finally agree that they need to take back the North but they still have to build an army big enough for the battle. Then, we got Arya Stark still training to become an assassin with many faces and it's turning out to be really interesting. It's interesting because they are assassin's so they kill whoever they get paid to kil

Official Runtime For Blade Runner 2049

Image
Official Runtime For Blade Runner 2049 Confirmed. Recently Director Dennis Villeneuve talked to Collider News about the runtime for Blade Runner 2049. He said that the rough cut of the film is about 2 hours and 30 minutes, but there was still a lot of work to be done. Today however, it has been confirmed that Blade Runner 2049 will be 2 hours and 32 minutes without credits. Now I know this is only a two minute difference, but it gives us Blade Runner fans, topic for discussion. Blade Runner The Final Cut was just under 2 hours long, so why is the new movie 30 minutes longer than the original? Dennis Villeneuve discussed that there has been a 30 year gap from the original to the new movie. With such a gap, he may have to inform the audience on where exactly this world is in the new movie, how there are still Blade Runners and so on and so forth. I've seen a fiar share of Villeneuve's films and the last one I saw was "Arrival" with Amy Adams. That movie also clo

Ben Affleck In Talks To Direct "Red Platoon"

Image
Ben Affleck In Talks To Direct "Red Platoon" For Sony. Yesterday The Tracking Board reported that Ben Affleck is in early talks with Sony to direct "Red Platoon". The movie will be based off a true story about a fire-fight at the Battle of Kamdesh, in Afghanistan. The battle was 14 hours long, and the movie is also based off of the best-selling novel by Clinton Romesha. It happened on October 3rd, 2009 when the Taliban made a large-scale move with about 300 men to Comman Post Keating. The outpost was remote and very difficult to defend, Staff Seargant Romesha led a small band of soldiers to the outpost to try and defend it against the great Taliban force. Another interesting thing about this movie is that Ben Affleck's brother Casey Affleck is top runner for the lead role. This is interesting to me because Casey Affleck was the lead-role for Ben Affleck's directorial debut "Gone Baby Gone". When Ben was making that movie, he decided it would

Game Of Thrones Season 4 So Far

Image
My Thoughts On Game Of Thrones Season 4 So Far. So I'm not going to do a episode by episode review in this discussion, only what stuck out to me. I have gotten to episode 8 and I think the spoiler for what happens to Jon Snow, but there is a lot of moving parts for this season. Where I left off, I literally just saw the White Walkers show off their full-force against Snow and The Wildlings. It amazes me that the most dangerous thing it just past the wall and the only people that care are the Wildlings and The Night's Watch. To me, it doesn't matter the scandals that are going in King's Landings or wherever, all of the human race is at stake against the White Walkers. Game Of Thrones has been up and down for me but not down as in I think some episodes or seasons are bad, it's just there are so many plotlines to follow. Don't get me wrong, I like how well executed every subplot is, it's just my favorite characters are Tyrion Lannister and Jon Snow. So th

Black Manta Gameplay Trailer

Image
My Thoughts On The Black Manta Gameplay Reveal Trailer. Yesterday Ed Boon and NetherRealm Studios released gameplay trailer for Black Manta who will be the first to come for DLC Pack 2. Yesterday some hometown held a tournament for Injustice 2, and Ed Boon showed up saying how excited he was to reveal how Black Manta will fight. If you haven't seen the trailer, it all over YouTube, and from my point of view he seems to fight like Sub-Zero/Supergirl. I know that's an odd comparison but he does moves very similar to each character I just said. His special move is nothing that special but I do like his outro, he walks away from the camera and explosions go off around him. I've seen in the YouTube comments for the gameplay trailer that not a lot of people are that excited for Black Manta, perhaps because he isn't too mainstream, or is he not flashy enough. From the gameplay trailer it's obvious that he has some sort of jetpack which could throw off your opponent

Why Guillermo Del Toro Didn't Get His Hellboy Trilogy

Image
Why Guillermo Del Toro Wasn't Allowed To Finish His Hellboy Trilogy. So for today's topic I wanna talk about the reason/reasons why Guillermo Del Toro didn't finish his Hellboy Trilogy. Now I don't know about you, but I truly love Del Toro's take on the Hellboy character and the world he made. Guillermo Del Toro has such a great imagination and it just seeps off the screen when you watch the first and second Hellboy. I believe this is one of the cases where the sequel is better than the original though the first movie has more of a dark atmosphere to it. Also, the humor is just spot on in both movies, with humor, you have know exactly how to use it whenever you're making a movie and Ron Perlman delivers all the comedic notes perfectly. So let's talk about why Del Toro didn't get to finish his Hellboy trilogy, the biggest part of it was Del Toro wanting too big of a budget. Del Toro wanted around a $120 million dollar budget (not including marketing

Will The Solo Batman Film Be Part Of The DCEU?

Image
Matt Reeves Clarifies His Comments On The Batman Being In The DCEU. Two days ago Matt Reeves had to clarify statements he made quite a while back on how his solo Batman film will not be part of the DCEU. Then, with his statement two days ago, he clarified what he meant, which is that the film won't have tie-ins with the DCEU. You won't see any characters outside of Batman's world enter the movie, for example, you won't seen any members of the Justice League. Therefore, the movie will focus solely on Batman and perhaps give us a look into Gotham and all the villains as well. We even got a hint about the Penguin in the second Justice League Trailer in which Alfred mentions him while talking to Bruce. Matt Reeves has discussed before that he wants to make a Batman movie that personally resonates with him. Perhaps like how he made the new "Planet Of The Apes" trilogy very personal to Cesar and it was his story arc throughout all three films. I believe Matt R

Joker/Harley Quinn Movie Moving Forward

Image
Joker And Harley Quinn Movie Is Moving Forward In DCEU. So today The Hollywood Reporter reported that Warner Bros. has a Joker/Harley Quinn movie in the works. THR reported that Glenn Ficarra and John Requa who are the directors for "Crazy, Stupid, Love" are in final negotiations to write, direct, and produce this upcoming film.  Jared Leto and Margot Robbie are reprising their roles as the 'Queen and King Of Gotham' from the movie "Suicide Squad". It is said that the film will be a 'criminal love story' which will be of course, centered around the two characters. I would personally love if they do a Bonnie and Clyde type of film that dives deeper on this abusive, but necessary relationship. Though it is said that this film won't get going until Suicide Squad 2 is finished since it's the priority for the DCEU. This Joker/Harley Quinn movie is second priority because of agreements with the lead actor and actress. Apparently their contra

Injustice 2 DLC Pack #2

Image
My Thoughts On DLC Pack 2 For Injustice 2. So today/yesterday NetherRealm released a trailer showcasing the second fight pack for Injustice 2. The trailer showed the three characters that are in the fighter pack which are Hellboy, Black Manta, and Raiden. I knew that Raiden and Black Manta were going to be brought to the game because of the subtle blacked out images we got in Injustice 2. Though Hellboy was a complete surprise to me because no one ever would've expected that character and he's from Dark Horse Comics. Now, I understand that Swamp Thing is from Vertigo comics so I understand we have characters in Injustice 2 that are necessarily completely tied into DC Comics. One huge thing I've been seeing in the trailer comments or the Injustice 2 tweets is that a lot of fans are unhappy with Hellboy and especially Raiden, being in the next DLC pack. I've seen a lot of replies saying how come Injustice 2 is gonna have Raiden and not someone like Static Shock? Wel

Joker Origin Movie Apart From DCEU?

Image
New Joker Origin Movie Set To Be Apart From The DCEU. So some rather interesting news broke today from Deadline which talks about a solo Joker Origin Movie. Now of course DC says that it's only in the very early stages of production, probably without any script just yet but at least an idea. Though we have gotten news that heavy hitters are taking part of this solo film which is Martin Scorsese (directed Wolf Of Wall Street, The Departed, etc.) who will produce the film, Top Phillips (directed Hangover and War Dogs), and screenwriter Scott Silver (screenwriter for The Fighter). Surely with these masters of their profession, we will get a very interesting take on 'The Clown Prince Of Crime' though what exactly are we fans in for? From my understanding and the various reports I have read, the Joker Origin film, will not be apart of the DCEU as we stand today. The film will actually be the first of yet to be announced, new banner for Warner Bros. which will tell elseworl

New Hellboy Movie Won't Be A Reboot

Image
David Harbour Says Hellboy Will Not Be A Reboot But More Like Indiana Jones. Appearing on Josh Horowitz's "Happy Sad Confused" podcast, actor David Harbour talks about the upcoming Hellboy. David Harbour is playing the main character Hellboy with supporting cast Ian Mcshane as the professor that is Hellboy's father figure and Milla Jovovich as the "Blood Queen". So on Josh Horowitz's podcast David Harbour discussed how the new Hellboy wont necessarily be a reboot/origin story. He said that yes, of course it's a reboot, but the movie won't be focusing on how Hellboy was created, and how he came to be who he is as he got older. The movie will be more like the first "Indiana Jones" in terms of how when we first meet Indie, he's already going on adventures stealing ancient artifacts. Then we see a little later in the movie, some of his background like how he's a university teacher and has major knowledge on ancient artifacts.

Wonder Woman Makes Over 800 Million

Image
Wonder Woman Crosses 800 Million At The Worldwide Box Office. So this past weekend Wonder Woman crossed 800 million at the worldwide box office. Batman v. Superman is still ahead of it with I believe a little over 886 million, but without a doubt, Wonder Woman was more than just a success. The only film that has made more than Wonder Woman is "Beauty and The Beast" which made a bit over a billion dollars. I mean I haven't seen Beauty and The Beast but it enters that elite group of movies to cross the billion dollar mark at the box office, so let's just say coming in second this time isn't bad at all. Wonder Woman topped both "Man of Steel" and "Suicide Squad" but even though it's second to "Batman v. Superman" it has the most positive DCEU ratings. I've said in previous blogs how important Wonder Woman was not just because the DCEU has had fans and critics mixed on the movies, but the importance for women too. What I mea

Game Of Thrones Season 3 Finale

Image
My Thoughts On The Game Of Thrones Season 3 Ending. Yesterday I watched the season finale for Game of Thrones Season 3 and I just have to say, wow. This show is starting to become one of my favorites of all time and I haven't even caught up to the newest season yet. The previous two seasons had somewhat shocking endings or for season 2, a badass battle for Kings Landing. Though the ending for season 3 literally shocked me and left me speechless at the end of the second to last episode. I mean i understand that there is a lot of backstabbing in GoT but they took it to a whole next level and it's going to cause a lot of stir for everyone in the North. Now, for those of you who haven't seen season 3 yet, even though I know most likely everyone else is ahead, I'm going to talk about spoilers for the season 3 finale. So basically in the 9th episode Rob Stark agrees to have one of his family members marry the Lord of the Twins daughter so they can get an advantage over

My Thoughts On The Defenders

Image
My Thoughts On The Defenders Season 1. So today I finished up watching The Defenders and sad to say, I thought it was just decent. Don't get me wrong, it's still better than the second half of "Luke Cage" and definitely better than "Iron Fist", but even with only eight episodes, it dragged on sometimes. They have four characters with so much backstory and potential but I feel like they touched on the same subjects so many times without adding something new. The first episode was good because it gives the viewer an understanding of each character, their motives, and how they view the world. Then, for some reason, we get a lot of dialogue about the same motives and throughout the first couple of episodes, they interweave all the side characters. Another thing that kind of bothered me was the action, not that it wasn't good but that it was most of the time dark. You can see that all the stunt men and actual actors are trying their best with the stunts

New Punisher Teaser

Image
New Punisher Teaser Trailer Dropped. The first teaser trailer for The Punisher arrived yesterday giving us a quick look and expected tone. The trailer itself didn't really give anything away other than we will be getting flashbacks of The Punishers past. It also gives us a certain tone which is gruesome and perhaps no good guys to root for. What I mean by this is even in Daredevil Season 2 you can't help like The Punisher but even if you do, there are moments when he takes it too far. You understand what The Punisher had to go through with losing his family but even he says that he knows killing all those bad guys won't make him feel any better. So in the minute long teaser we get glimpses of his past both in the time he had with his family and his past in the military. All while cutting back to what I'm guessing is present day where he's striking a sledgehammer to the concrete floor. This part reminds me a lot of John Wick so perhaps we will get a couple of f

Obi-Wan Kenobi Standalone Coming

Image
Obi-Wan Kenobi Movie In The Works And Possible Director. Yesterday The Hollywood Reporter talked to Lucasfilm and was told that Lucasfilm is going to make a standalone Obi-Wan Kenobi film. They did emphasize though that Lucasfilm is in the very early stages of development, and they're barely working on the script. Though, they are in talks with director Stephen Daldry (Billy Elliot and The Hours director). If Daldry does become the director, he will also have oversite on the screenwriting and overall development of the film. Stephen Daldry was nominated for 3 Oscars so Lucasfilm is really going for a solid filmmaker, and perhaps a different tone for the upcoming Kenobi film. So the biggest question everyone has is whether or not Ewan McGregor will reprise his role as Kenobi. McGregor took over the Kenobi role in the prequels, following up Sir Alec Guiness from the original trilogy. Not matter if you're a prequel fan or hater, majority of people agree Ewan McGregor owned t

Ben Affleck Talks About Batman

Image
Ben Affleck Talks About A More Traditional Batman In Justice League. So today Ben Affleck talked to Entertainment Weekly about some changes happening to Batman. Specifically how in Justice League, we won't get a Batman full of rage towards Superman and the world. Ben Affleck said that Bruce Wayne is put in a position that needs him to gather extraordinary people for a looming threat he cannot face alone. Superman made Ben Affleck's Batman have hope again in humanity and we will now get a traditional Batman that will help people and fight for them. There have been many iterations of the Batman character but with every one, we always get that sense that Batman believes he can help better the world. Though with what Batman did in "Batman v. Superman", Affleck says Bruce isn't sure that the team will get together. What I mean is that perhaps we will see all the 'members' of the Justice League question why they should listen to Batman, when he was on a d

Daniel Craig Back For Bond 25

Image
Daniel Craig Confirms His Return For Bond 25. Last night on the Stephen Colbert Show, James Bond himself, Daniel Craig, appeared and gave confirmation on his return for Bond 25. There has been a lot of rumors in the past months, that stated it's almost confirmed that Daniel Craig will return as James Bond. Though, the studio, nor Craig himself gave any sort of confirmation until last night when Daniel Craig was doing his press tour for "Logan Lucky". Craig said on the show that he's been asked several times by several outlets whether he's returning as Bond during his press rounds but he didn't think that was the correct place to announce it. He said that he felt the Stephen Colbert Show was the perfect place to announce his return as Bond and that he just wants to go out on a high note. This information is not too surprising since the last Bond film "Spectre" was not that critically loved. The film made back it's budget plus more, but left

Captain Marvel Gets A New Screenwriter

Image
Captain Marvel Brings In Geneva Robertson-Dworet For The Screenplay. Recently Marvel Studios released some plot details for their upcoming Captain Marvel movie. Yesterday though, Deadline said that Marvel brought in Geneva Robertson-Dworet as the screenplay writer. She wasn't the first choice though, Marvel Studios wanted Nicole Perlman (Guardians Of the Galaxy writer) and Meg LeFauve (Inside Out writer) to handle the screenplay. Both, however, are busy with other projects and Marvel plans to release Captain Marvel in 2019 so they want someone tocone in and have enough time to write and excellent screenplay. Roberston-Dworet isn't shy to big blockbusters though, her most recent writing credits are for the "Tomb Raider" reboot and "Gotham City Sirens", so she does not lack the experience of tackling a big studio movie. Other potential projects for her include "Sherlock Holmes 3" and "M.A.S.K: Mobile Armed Strike Kommand" so she

Movie Pass $10 A Month?

Image
Movie Pass Will Now Only Charge $10 A Month? So this morning on "Good Morning News", CEO Mitch Lowe talked about how his company Movie Pass Will lower it's subscription. For those of you who don't know Movie Pass is a subscription that used to be fifty dollars a month to go watch unlimited movies for that month. So that means to get what you paid for, you have to go see five to six films a month. Today however, Mitch Lowe announced that Movie Pass subscriptions will go down to ten dollars a month for unlimited movies except 3D and IMAX films. So in order to break even you just have to watch 2 films a month and you get your money's worth. Mitch Lowe also spoke about how theatres have been slowly losing money since there isn't much consumer desire to go watch a movie. The reason is because of streaming services and it's cheaper to wait to watch a movie on home video. So Mitch Lowe said that since Helios & Madison Analytics Inc. invested a lot of

Samuel L. Jackson's Not In Avengers 3 & 4

Image
Samuel L. Jackson Has Not Taken Part In Avengers 3 & 4. Today Samuel L. Jackson talked to Yahoo! about how Marvel Studios hasn't contacted him for any of their upcoming movies. Samuel L. Jackson plays Nick Fury, the head of S.H.I.E.L.D which makes his character very important in the Marvel movies. We know that Nick Fury will appear in "Captain Marvel" portraying a younger version of himself. Other than that, we haven't seen Nick Fury since "Avengers: Age of Ultron. Though with "Avengers: Infinity War", it wouldn't make sense if he didn't have a role to play in that very important movie. Samuel L. Jackson himself has repeatedly stated that he would love to continue playing the character, all Marvel has to do is ask. Yesterday when he talked to Yahoo!, he actually seemed a but frustrated that he hasn't gotten a call for any upcoming Marvel movies. He states how he wasn't even asked to be in "Black Panther" which is a bi

Godzilla 2 Easter Egg

Image
Director For Godzilla 2 Teases Orignal Movie Easter Egg. So yesterday Michael Dougherty tweeted out an image that can be considered fan service or an actual plot point for Godzilla 2. The image showed the "Oxygen Destroyer" from the original Godzilla that came out in 1954. There was no real context to the tweet, all that was written was "Day 41 @GodzillaMovie". So with that we have nothing but speculation going around about the significance of the Oxygen Destroyer. Now, perhaps Director Michael Dougherty is just giving fans of Godzilla an Easter egg so people understand he admires the original movie. Or is he hinting that the Oxygen Destroyer will play a big part for Godzilla 2? If you don't know Godzilla 2 has a name place holder titled "Godzilla: King of Monsters". As well as from various reports saying this next movie will pit Godzilla against some of his classic monster foes from the original. I have watched the first Godzilla movie that t

Justice League Re-shoots

Image
Rumors On Justice League Re-shoots. So recently with Ben Affleck talking to Entertainment Weekly, he partially addressed the rumors about the re-shoots. He only said that all movies have re-shoots so we don't have much to go off there. There have been nothing but rumors on how extensive the re-shoots for Justice League might be. There are a lot of rumors saying that Warner Bros. Is putting a lot more money and time in the re-shoots, so is that a good or bad thing? Well, obviously it's a bad thing that they felt like they needed to do a lot more re-shoots than what was originally planned. Though, at least Warner Bros. acknowledges that they feel like they haven't made the best film they can make. So I think with this extra time, they can really polish and fix things if need be. Plus, let's say the rumors are true and these re-shoots are a lot longer and costing the studio more money, it isn't the first film to do so. Recent movies like "Star Wars: Rogue One

Ben Affleck Talks About Justice League

Image
Ben Affleck Talks About Justice League Directors And DCEU Going Forward. So recently Ben Affleck talked to Entertainment Weekly about how the Justice League film is coming along. Now, principle photography is already done for Justice League so the only thing on the agenda is re-shoots. I'm sure you're all aware that major films with big budgets plan for re-shoots so there's nothing to worry about when it comes to that. Though Zack Snyder not too long ago had a tragic family matter that I cannot even come close to understand so it only makes the most sense for him to step off as director. This happened though, before Justice League began the re-shoots so Warner Bros. respectively brought in Joss Whedon to direct the re-shoots. Warner Bros. and Mr. Whedon know each other quite well since Joss Whedon is writing and directing a "Batgirl" film for them. So to recap, Zack Snyder had to leave for tragic family matters and Joss Whedon will/is directing the re-shoot

Supporting Comic Book Stores

Image
Why It Is Important To Support Comic Book Stores. So for today's blog I wanted to talk about why comic book fans and those who are interested in diving into the world of comics, should support their local comic book stores. In this day and age things are more accessible to us than ever, so comics can be bought and read without having to leave the comfort of home. Now believe me, I'm the type of person that loves staying at home and the only time I go out, is when I go to the comic book store, movies, or of course, to work. Other than those three things, I honestly don't care about going out much. So I understand people not wanting to go to the comic book store to pick up a few comics, I really do. So with today's technology, we can just buy comic books online and either have them shipped to our homes, or we could read them on any smart device. Now, I'm not trying to say you shouldn't do that because there are benefits to getting comics that way, but you'

Blade Runner 2049 Rate R

Image
Blade Runner 2049 Will Be Rated R. So two days ago it was announced that Blade Runner 2049 will be rated R. The rating describes the film as having violence, sexuality, nudity, and some language. If you're a Blade Runner fan this shouldn't really be too surprising since the original movie was also rated R. Though the original movie was not really grotesque and relying on brutal imagery of any sort. If you take out a minute here or there in the original it would be rated R. So that begs the question, whether Blade Runner 2049 will be a hard R and haves lots of violence and nudity, or did it barely get that rating? From Dennis Villeneuve's previous films, they have been rated R or PG-13 but he doesn't try to have a lot of graphic imagery so i don't think we will get that in Blade Runner 2049. Blade Runner has never been about that, but, it is a film that is for adults so if Villeneuve put things in the new movie that he felt was necessary, I full-heartedly trust

Is Deckard A Replicant In Blade Runner?

Image
Is Deckard Actually A Replicant In Blade Runner? So today I wanted to talk about whether the great Rick Deckard, played by Harrison Ford, is a replicant or not. There are six versions of the Blade Runner film and only the Director's Cut and the Final Cut adress it more thoroughly. There are two extra scenes in the two cuts that suggest more than anything else in all the versions that Deckard is a replicant. The scenes involve the unicorn, in particular, Deckard has a dream about a unicorn that kind of abruptly placed in the film. Then, at the end of the film, Edward James Olmos character, Gaff, leaves an orgami of a unicorn at Deckards apartment. This suggests that Gaff knows about Deckards dream, because it's on record for Blade Runner's. Basically every replicant has implanted memories that are kept on file so that completely explains why Gaff would leave a unicorn origami at his place. Also, you see how Deckard reacts to it, and he has a look of understanding whic

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson Black Adam

Image
My Thoughts of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson Playing Black Adam. So for today's topic I wanted to discuss why The Rock is the best choice to play Black Adam. For those of you who don't know who Black Adam is, he's the main enemy for Shazam, and has basically the same powers as Superman, but his come from magic. He's also centuries old so he has to stay as Black Adam, if he says SHAZAM, he will go back to his normal self which will probably die in seconds because of his extreme age. So like I was saying, The Rock is perfect to play Black Adam because he's not only got the physique, but he's also grown as an actor. Black Adam is a very serious and scary villain, but from my understanding DC/Warner Bros. is going to make him an anti-hero. Also, he won't play a part in the Shazam movie that scheduled for 2019. Warner Bros. would like to make a movie just about Black Adam which is good for getting the movie audience into Black Adam, especially with the

Domino's Look In Deadpool 2

Image
Does Domino Look Good In The Next Deadpool Movie? So today we actually got our first look at Cable in the Deadpool 2 movie and I actually think he looks pretty good. I watched my daily Collider Movie Talk and one of the topics was of course the pics Ryan Reynolds shared showing Cable. So while I was watching my movie talk I was scrolling through the YouTube comments and I saw a lot of people actually talking about how Domino looks in Deadpool 2. I saw that a lot of people really didn't like her look and started hating on the film studio and people involved in the design for Domino. Then I watched my daily Hero Talk and I also saw a lot of people really hating her look and saying they lost some respect for Jon Schnepp. So I really wanted to talk about my feelings towards the Domino Look in Deadpool 2. Look, I know she doesn't look like she does in the comics but this certainly isn't the first time a studio has somehow changed the look of a hero or villain. Also, there are

My Thoughts On Man Of Steel

Image
Why I Think Man Of Steel Is The Best Superman Movie. So for today's blog I'd like to talk about why I think Man of Steel is the best Superman movie we've ever gotten. Now, I have seen the first two Christopher Reeve Superman movies and I actually really enjoyed both. I prefer the second over the first though since he fights General Zod and even though the fight is dated, I still get a kick out of it. Though I never really felt that those movies really got how alienated Superman/Kal-El can be sometimes. That's where Man of Steel comes in, we've seen Superman as the boy scout even if he just started being a superhero, he would always know the right thing to do. Sure there were times where Christopher Reeves Superman had internal struggles but I never felt that that's what his films were focused on. In Man of Steel however, we do focus on Superman's internal struggles and what he's had to tackle even at a young age. That's one of the strengths of M

Dr. Fate Injustice 2

Image
Why Dr. Fate Is My Favorite Zoner. So recently with the latest patch for Injustice 2, I've had to find new characters to play. Now, most of them have only had little changes to them, but to me, the game feels a lot different. The biggest change that bothered me the most was how much they nerfed Aquaman. I already talked about that on a different blog so I won't get into that. So, with the patch I decided to try out different characters and also there's this Twitch streamer that I watched named ImKnomadz. He my favorite streamer and he only mains Dr. Fate and Atrocitus, so I decided to try out both characters. I thought Atrocitus was ok, but I actually really liked playing as Dr. Fate. Now, before the patch I wasn't the type of fighter to only zone during matches. That changed however once I started to learn how to play with Dr. Fate. To me, other than Green Arrow, he's the easiest zoner to learn, though I think a lot of people don't play him because of his m

Director Talks Shazam's Tone

Image
David F. Sandberg Talks About A Light-Hearted Shazam. So today Shazam's director David F. Sandberg talked to the Toronto Sun about what you can expect in the Shazam film. He basically said that the film, overall, will be light-hearted and different from previous DCEU films. He also talks about how growing up, he was like any other kid, idolizing the superhero Superman. So with Shazam, he gets to show an example of a kid dreaming of growing up and being like Sueprman. Billy Batson's superpower is that when he yells SHAZAM, he becomes basically this god, whose powers are based off of magic. In his origin, Billy comes across the great elder wizard Merlin, who bestows upon him the gift to turn into Shazam. Now, I'm sure some of you are familiar with how powerful the hero Shazam is and some of you aren't. So if you don't know his powers, he's basically like Superman, he can fly, has superstrength, and he can yell SHAZAM, which will summon a powerful lightning bol

Injustice 2 Patch: Supergirl Top 5?

Image
Is Supergirl Now A Top 5 Injustice 2 Character? So another character that got some fixes was Supergirl,  mostly making her a little bit powerful. Though, another thing I noticed is with her combos, if they don't land and are block or they missed, she's less likely to get punished for it. From my understanding on reading the patch notes, if takes her less frame to recover from an attack. I've played Supergirl the last two days and I actually enjoy the character a lot more. She has become not more versatile, but more forgiving of mistakes. Though with the less framerates after every combo, you can follow up block hits with one of her specials. Het specials are what her more of a top 5 character to play. She has her teleport with flying from one side of the stage to the other if you're trying to close the distance. Also, she has her laser beams if you wanna zone a bit or let's say you run into situations with someone like Sub-Zero. If gone against a bit of Sub-Zeros

Injustice 2 Aquaman Patch

Image
Injustice 2 Aquaman Patch Problems? So yesterday was NetherRealms first big patch for Injustice 2, and like any other time a game gets patched, there are problems. First I wanna focus on the patch they did on Aquaman and how they nerfed his key strengths. The two most notable patched are that they lessened his damage for a couple of moves but mostly on his trident rush. The other notable patch is that when he meter burns his tentacle strike, it would bounce the opponent so you can perform a juggle combo. Now with the patch, you can't juggle your opponent after meter burning his tentacle strike, it doesn't bounce your opponent anymore but instead holds them to the ground. Now, I'm okay with NetherRealm taking away some of his damage because then you can still perform good, long combos if you meter burn with tentacle strike.
