Black Manta Gameplay Trailer
My Thoughts On The Black Manta Gameplay Reveal Trailer.
Yesterday Ed Boon and NetherRealm Studios released gameplay trailer for Black Manta who will be the first to come for DLC Pack 2. Yesterday some hometown held a tournament for Injustice 2, and Ed Boon showed up saying how excited he was to reveal how Black Manta will fight. If you haven't seen the trailer, it all over YouTube, and from my point of view he seems to fight like Sub-Zero/Supergirl. I know that's an odd comparison but he does moves very similar to each character I just said. His special move is nothing that special but I do like his outro, he walks away from the camera and explosions go off around him. I've seen in the YouTube comments for the gameplay trailer that not a lot of people are that excited for Black Manta, perhaps because he isn't too mainstream, or is he not flashy enough.
From the gameplay trailer it's obvious that he has some sort of jetpack which could throw off your opponent on trying to time your movements. I also saw he had projectiles which it wasn't clear if they are lock on or does the opponent have to be at a certain distance. He uses a harpoon to cover long distances just like Batman's grappling hook. Though other than that and his projectiles, he looks like a close combat character. This is why he reminds me of Sub-Zero, because he does have one or two moves to cover distance, but a lot of his combos are close and quick.
His jetpack remones me of Supergirl and how when she jumps, she can do kind of a dash in the air. He also has his laser-beams, which leaves the question on whether his beams are his trait or his jetpack. All in all, I did really like the reveal and I'm a big Aquaman comic fan so to see another character from his world in Injustice 2 is exciting. Though I am skeptical on the way he fights, I'm not the best player so I like well-rounded characters to main.
