My Hero Academia

Image
My Thoughts On My Hero Academia. So for today's topic I'd like to discuss why My Hero Academia is a great show that you should be watching. Let's first start off with, this show isn't that original, it's about how people on Earth have been getting quirks(superpowers) for the past few years, some are stronger than other. Then, there are few people that are born without a quirk but it tends to be rare, though with our main character Midorya, he is a quirkless child. So with everyone having quirks, there are schools that the more intelligent and gifted children go and they compete in tournaments and learn how to be a hero. They are also scouted throughout the four years they attend the schools and once an agency pucks them up, they perform civil duties by using their quirks. Though no one is allowed to use their quirk in public unless they are on duty, or their life or someone else's is in danger. Now, back to our protagonist for the show, Midorya, he's quir

Cyborg's Importance In Justice League

Why Cyborg Is Very Improtant To The Justice League. So for today's topic I'd like to discuss why Cyborg is very important to the Justice League. So if you guys don't know he's actually been switched from a main member of the Titans to the Justice League in recent years. Before he was on the Titans he was a quarterback for the Gotham City college football team. Then, an accident left most of his body completely damaged and of no use. Pretty much like the origin of Robocop, and his father working for S.T.A.R labs made him mechanical limbs to replace ones he didn't have anymore. Though in recent comic book years, his mechanical body parts have come from a Motherbox from Apokilips(Darkseids home). So his new origin is the one Warner Bros. is going with in Justice League. With his body being created from a Motherbox, it's gives him the ability to create any weapons he may need from his mechanical body parts. Ray Fisher, the actor who is going to play Cyborg in Jus

Will We See Green Lantern In Justice League?

Will We See Someone From The Green Lantern Corps In Justice League? So with Justice League just around the corner (Not really), there's been a lot of speculation and rumors of Green Lantern being in the movie. Then, in the new trailer we hear Steppenwolf mention that there are no Lanterns on Earth. So does that mean that for some reason the Green Lantern(s) of Sector 2814 are off planet on a very important mission? Or perhaps there isn't a Lantern for Sector 2814 just yet so maybe with the events that are going to happen in Justice League, will that make the Guardians of the Universe send a rings or several to Earth. So from what Warner Bros. has said we will be getting a Green Lantern Corps movie that takes place in outer space and is a buddy-cop film. So with knowing that I think it's safe to assume that we will get two Green Lanterns from space sector 2814. They will most likely do the first two Lanterns which are Hal Jordan and John Stewart but I feel like they sho

Will Deathstroke Still Be In The DCEU?

Image
Joe Mangiello Talks About Deathstroke. So Joe Mangiello briefly talk to The Hollywood Reporter about whether he's still going to be Deathstroke or not. He simply put it as he knows whether he's still Deathstroke or not, but he's not allowed to tell anyone yet. We will probably hear a yes or no from a high Warner Bros. studio executive or maybe Matt Reeves. So with Matt Reeves directing the next solo Batman film it raises the question if Deathstroke will be used. The reason why is because Matt Reeves said he wants to do a Batman trilogy that is more like a noir film and emphasizes on his detective skills. Now, perhaps Deathstroke would be a nice foil to the movies because he's a highly intelligent gun for hire. He doesn't only go toe to toe with Batman in terms of intelligence, but he can go toe to toe with him in combat. Deathstroke also has a healing factor that's not quite as fast as Wolverines or Deadpool but it does make him hard to kill. He also is s

IT Trailer Review

My Thoughts On The It Trailer. So today Warner Bros. put out a trailer for the movie "It". Now, I'm not the biggest horror guy but this story intrigues me. I was so interested in fact that I went out and bought the book but I'm only on page 150. I still got a long way to go but I'm enjoying how much detail is put in before It kills someone. So back to the trailer, I thought this was a pretty intense trailer. We all know things don't go well for Georgie so when he reached for the boat it had, I was like, damn, you're dead now. So I also know from reading the book that the movie is actually going a little bit of a different direction. The reason I say that is because in the book, we're only in Derry town for the intro and Georgie's death. Then it jumps forward a few years where all the kids are already adults having to go back to the town Derry (and that's pretty much where I left off). So in the trailer and everything that has come out for the

Will We See The Bat Family In The DCEU?

Possibility of Seeing The Bat Family In The DCEU? So not too long ago Warner Bros. announced that Joss Whedon was working on a Batgirl film but just in the early works of it. Then we got a list of future titles for DCEU movies and Batgirl was one of them. Then, in "Batman v Superman" there was a scene of Bruce Wayne looking at a beaten and burnt costume of Robin hinting at the death of Jason Todd by the Joker. With those two things, is it possible that Warner Bros. will expand the Bat Family even further in future movies? If the DCEU really wanted to separate themselves from previous Batman movies then I think that will be the best way to go. If will also be a great service to the fans since that is something along the lines of a breath of fresh air in terms of Batmans story. If there's one thing we know Warner Bros. loves to do with their DCEU films, is that they like to expand their world rather quickly and the Bat Family has some serious potential. The stories invol

Wonder Woman 2 Gets New Release Date

Wonder Woman 2 Gets A new Release Date for December 12th. So it's no secret that the first Wonder Woman was a big hit critically and financially. It was the first DCEU film to have overall positive reactions from both fans and critics. So therefore Warner Bros. announced that Wonder Woman 2 will be coming out December 12, 2019. You maybe asking why so long and it's probably because Justice League comes out this year and then Aquaman will come out in 2018. Though I think Warner Bros. is also working on Shazam, Batgirl, and Gotham City Sirens movies. We know that Geoff Johns and Patty Jenkins are writing the story for Wonder Woman 2 right now but it hasn't been confirmed that Patty Jenkins will return for the sequel. Though since she has a hand in the script it is more than likely that she will return to direct. Before Wonder Woman Patty Jenkins didn't direct a film for 11 years, the last one she directed was "Monster" with Charlize Theron and that won Theron

Thor Ragnarok Runtime

Thor Ragnarok Will Be Around 1 Hour and 40 Minutes. So today Thor Ragnarok director Taika Waititi talk to the media about the runtime for the next Thor movie. To sum it up, he pretty much said that the film will clock in around 1 hour and 40 minutes. This will make it the shortest Marvel film to date and frankly, I'm okay with that. Look, I haven't been the biggest fan of the Thor movies or even when he's with the Avengers, but Taika Waititi seems to be taking a whole new route with the character. While discussing with media about the runtime, he also went into detail about how he wants the film short and have the audience wanting more at the end. Though, that doesn't sound to pleasing for a viewer taking time out of their day to go enjoy a movie. Thankfully, he explained that the film is pretty much non-stop with something always happening, and by the end of the film the audience will feel exhausted. Now that sounds a lot more promising for a viewer wanting to get mo

DC vs. Marvel: Comic Books and Movies

DC vs. Marvel: Comic Books and Movies. So today I'd like to discuss the two biggest superhero studios and which has the better movies, then which has the better comics. Right off the bat though I wanna say I love both studios and their history/future in movies and comics. Now both companies have had their low points in both comics and movies but they both keep trying to bring new, amazing things to the table so I also appreciate that. So now to get to the point, I believe DC has the better comic books because they not just have been consistent, but they've made some of the most popular, and influential comics. Now that's not to say Marvel hasn't but I always feel like you have to go digging through comic runs just to find a great story and not just decent. Look, I'm no where near rich enough to go to the comic store every week and not just buy single issues, but catch up on other runs in the past in trade paperbacks. So I like to spend my money on things I know ar

Avenger Infinity War Runtime

Avenger Infimity War Will Be Around 2 Hours and 30 Minutes. So in today's news I found out that the new Avengers movie will clock in around 2 hours and 30 minutes with some change. This is coming from one of the two directors, Joe Russo, his brother Anthony Russo is the second director for Infinity War. Now, I'm sure you're all thinking man, why does it have to be this long? Well to simply put it, we are now at the endgame of what all these marvels films have been trying to build. We've been introduced to many new Marvel characters and have had an interweaving storyline that connects to Thanos. Ever since the first "Avengers" movie we've gotten introduced to Thanos in a post-credit scene. Now in Avenger Infinity War we will have him as our main bad guy and have all the Avengers scattered, and unprepared for the biggest threat they will ever face. Anthony and Joe Russo were known for there work on "Arrested Development" which was a comedy tv ser

Blade Runner (The Final Cut)

Blade Runner (The Final Cut) Discussion. So since the new Blade Runner 2049 is coming out in a few months I wanted to talk about the original movie. Now I'm aware of the many versions there are for the first movie but I'll specifically talk about the final cut because that gave us the twist at the end. Oh and if you haven't seen the movie this discussion will contain spoilers so go watch it if you haven't. As I was saying I prefer the final cut because it doesn't have the meaningless voice over by Harrison Ford and contains more little details. Now, I've only seen the final cut version but I know what the other versions contain and how they differ. The movie is about an hour forty-five to an hour fifty, but the movie is so interesting it flys by. It's more like a noir detective film which is something I've never really seen before in a movie. Now about the movie, it's very complex if you really want to get into it but like I said it's a detecti

War For The Planet of The Apes Review

My Thoughts On War For The Planet Of The Apes. So I recently watched the new Planet Of The Apes movie and I just wanted to share my quick thoughts on it. I honestly thought it was a really good movie but the title itself can be somewhat misleading. The third installment in the franchise is in my opinion the second best, right behind Dawn of The Planet of The Apes. Now that's not to say this third movie is a step down or anything, it gives fans the wrap up they want for the trilogy. There have been other trilogy's that have faltered in the third movie like "The Godfather 3 and The Dark Knight Rises". This movie doesn't deal with so much war tropes like tons of action and gruesome imagery but more on the drama of war. Both sides don't necessarily want to fight but like Woody Harrelson's character said in the trailers, mankind is backed up into a corner on the edge of extinction. Though for Ceasar, he's dealing with a war he never wanted, he wants to ju

Justice League Trailer #2 Thoughts

Justice League Trailer #2  SDCC YouTube. So the new Justice League trailer came out to day of course since it's Warner Bros. turn to unveil things at San Diego Comic Con. The trailer is also out on YouTube if you haven't watched it yet. Now, Imma just get the obvious out of the way, I loved the new trailer. If you haven't read my past blogs then you don't know I'm a huge superhero fan no matter which studio the heroes are from. Though even though I've loved a lot that Marvel and other studios have done. I've always been a little sad that DC hasn't quite got there footing when it comes to how much people love their movies. I'm talking of course about after "The Dark Knight Trilogy". In the new DCEU all the movies pre-Wonder Woman have had mixed reviews. I've personally enjoyed all of the film's and know how much potential the cinematic universe can have. So then an amazing film called "Wonder Woman" came out after a lot o

All New Defenders Trailer and Punisher Footage

The Defenders Trailer #2 and The Punisher Footage. So the second day of San Diego Comic Con is now over and we got The Defenders new trailer. It's on YouTube already but the thing that isn't on YouTube is footage of Jon Bernthals The Punisher solo Netflix show. From reading various news and watching videos describing the footage on Punisher, it seems fans are getting what they asked for. I don't want to spoil for you guys but to sum it up it's footage showing how brutal, badass, and mentally broken the punisher is. He knows and we know that killing all these people isn't going to bring back his family, but he doesn't care. From my understanding we're going to see just how dark this character can go and I'm really looking forward to it. Now on to The Defenders, so we got another awesome trailer highlighting how each character interacts with one another and basically getting the wrap up to the war for New York which started in Daredevil season 2. We also

David Ayer Bright Trailer

Bright Trailer Disicussion. So San Diego Comic Con is going on right now and the first day we got the trailer for Bright. Bright will be a Netflix Original movie starring Will Smith and Joel Edgerton. So I watched the trailer which, if I'm being honest, I wasn't so excited for, but this trailer actually sold me. I mean I have account for Netflix and since this is free on there I'm of course give it a shot. David Ayer is the director of the movie and I've really enjoyed his previous movies "Suicide Squad", "Fury", and "End of Watch". Now out of those three films End of Watch was my favorite but one similar thing in all his previous movies is the characters. Now in each movie there is character development and great character dynamic. Also Bright seems a lot like End of Watch since both are about a cop duo patrolling the streets. The trailer was very interesting show these Fairy tale beings as gangs in what seems to be Los Angeles and you c

Aquaman's Importance In Justice League

Why Aquaman Is So Important to Justice League Film. The reason I bring up aquaman for this article is 1.) Because he my favorite DC character and 2.) His solo film is the next DC movie to come out after Justice League. I wrote a previous blog on how The Flash is an important DC character but now I wanna talk about Arthur Curry. If you have any previous knowledge on Aquaman in the comics for whatever else and you see the new Aquaman in the Justice League. You may notice they changed the characters appearance a bit from his typical look. Look, I know Aquaman has been the butt of jokes all these years but he is very important in order to bridge the gap between Atlantis and the surface world. Considering that in the Justice League trailer we see the team fighting parademons it's safe to assume they're gonna need a lot of help and some heavy hitters. Now of course there is the famous trinity Batman, Wonder Woman, and Superman, but they also need numbers and there are parts in the

Sylvester Stallone Writing Script For Creed 2

Sylvester Stallone Writing Script For Creed 2. So today in the media of movies, Sylvester Stallone announced that he is writing the script for Creed 2 as we speak. Now I don't have all the details but from my understanding the whole reason why its taken this long for a sequel to the first amazing Creed movie is because of the director. Ryan Coogler was the director for the first Creed film and helped bring in Michael B. Jordan to play as Adonis Creed. He previously worked with and directed Michael B. Jordan in the movie "Fruitvale Station". Now like I was saying, the studio is waiting for Ryan Coogler to return because he currently has his hands full with directing "Black Panther" for Marvel Studios. Warner Bros. believes that he is an essential piece to the puzzle in which was the first Creed film. He also helped get back Sylvester Stallone to reprise his role as Rocky Balboa. So in a way, things are coming full circle with Stallone writing the script and wa

Why The Flash Is An Important DC Character

Why The Flash Is An Important Character In "Justice League". So with since we're only a couple of months out from the Justice League movie, some people might be wondering the importance of each major character in the movie. For today's blog, I'd like to focus on The Flash and his importance to the Justice League overall. The Flash Is known of course for his super speed but throughout the years in comics he's been able to use his super speed for different abilities. An example would be that he's able to move all the molecules in his body so fast that he can phase through almost anything. Now, I'm sure you're all thinking to yourselves that all his abilities are too out there or what not but we are dealing with super heroes. One ability of his which is very important is that every time he runs he taps into the speed force which is I guess like a portal to anything including any time in the past or present. That's what, in my opinion, makes him

Justice League and Aquaman SDCC

Will we see a Justice League and Aquaman trailer at San Diego Comic Con? San Diego Comic Con is a day or technically two away, with that, fans like myself are expecting many things from Warner Bros/DC. The two movies set in stone so far are Justice League and Aquaman, Justice League is hitting theatres in November of this year. We've already seen one trailer and some past comic con footage for Justice League, but now since it's close to post production wrapping, should we expect another trailer this week? Well, Imma be totally honest with you guys, HELL YES!!! Look, I am a fan of all comic book properties and am excited for every new installment into the superhero genre. Saying that, I've grown up watching the "Justice League" and "Justice League Unlimited" cartoons. They both hold a special place in my heart and the love for each and every character has grown throughout the years. I am unpageotically a superhero fanboy no matter which company is from,

Why Aquaman Is My Favorite DC Character

So for today's topic I'd like to discuss my favorite DC character which is Aquaman. Now I'm sure many of you may know about how Aquaman has been the butt of all jokes for quote a long time. Though in recent years Aquaman has, in my opinion, finally been treated fairly and just. Sure, there have been interpretations in the past of Aquaman actually being kind of cool or at least respected. For instance there was a time where he was a badass who had a hook for a hand just like in the "Justice League" cartoon. Even with that, I still didn't feel that Aquaman didn't reach his full potential. So, like I was saying, in recent years there has been and Aquaman comic book run that is known as "Aquaman The New 52". This run was written by Geoff Johns who is also the main man for all the new DC movies. He is in charge of what projects should come next, what needs to the into each other, and things such as that. He first was a writing for movies such as the &

Blade Runner 2049

So the new trailer for Blade Runner 2049 came out today and I'm getting excited with every little thing coming out about the movie. Though there can be concerns for if they're starting to perhaps show too much? In my opinion I don't think they are and each trailer only builds the story little by little. They also did a good job with keeping the plot vague and hopefully that will make for a better movie watching experience. Dennis Villeneuve is directing the new Blade Runner and I am truly excited for the movie. Now, I'm not going to say I'm the biggest die hard fan of the original Blade Runner, but I watch the final cut over and over again. I understand all the speculation surrounding Harrison Ford's character Deckard, and from my understanding that will be answered in the new movie. Now, back to Mr. Villeneuve, I really enjoyed his past movies Sicario, Prisoners, and Arrival, and he will be bringing the same cinematographer that assisted him in Arrival. Just by
Why I Think Ben Affleck Is The Best Batman. As we all know, there have been many incarnations of the hero called "Batman". There are some that people really enjoy, but others that people cannot stand. I want to discuss the incarnation that I love the most and has the potential to be the greatest of all time. All previous actors who played the roll of "Batman" have done very good in my opinion and have shown different sides of the caped crusader. Christian Bales performance of the dark knight is always argued as the best "Batman" we've ever gotten. Though, I'd like to disagree, now before you guys start threatening me and stuff, let me explain why. Christian Bale is a top notch actor and did a solid job as "Batman" in the Dark Knight trilogy. Though is he the best Batman? Does he embody all the characteristics of "The Batman"? I personally don't think he does Now shall we get on to why I think Ben Affleck is the best &qu
