Why I Think Ben Affleck Is The Best Batman.
As we all know, there have been many incarnations of the hero called "Batman". There are some that people really enjoy, but others that people cannot stand. I want to discuss the incarnation that I love the most and has the potential to be the greatest of all time. All previous actors who played the roll of "Batman" have done very good in my opinion and have shown different sides of the caped crusader. Christian Bales performance of the dark knight is always argued as the best "Batman" we've ever gotten. Though, I'd like to disagree, now before you guys start threatening me and stuff, let me explain why. Christian Bale is a top notch actor and did a solid job as "Batman" in the Dark Knight trilogy. Though is he the best Batman? Does he embody all the characteristics of "The Batman"? I personally don't think he does
Now shall we get on to why I think Ben Affleck is the best "Batman". For starters, Affleck's version of "The Dark Knight" is one we haven't seen before but fans of the character have always wanted. This version is as close to the Frank Miller Batman as we've gotten, he is an older more brutal Batman. He's been Batman for about 20 years and you can see he's just full of rage that is scratching at the surface to get out. He's more hateful to the world and doesn't even care about killing bad guys now. Ben Affleck's performance as Bruce Wayne is spot on as well. You see I've always seen Bruce Wayne as another version of James Bond. He has a way with words that can get any woman to fall for him which I've always thought was awesome. Then, underneath that you can see all the pain and how traumatized he is. He has nightmares that come out of fear of losing the Jason Todd Robin, along with watching an alien from outerspace destroy his business' building. He's lonely and has lost all faith until the end of the movie "Batman v Superman". Also, in terms of combat, it isn't the most realistic but it's more like icing on a cake. We get to see how badass he is in combat and why so many people fear him, he can and literally did take on several people at a time. Segmenting off of that, I completely understand why people didn't like Batman killing his bad guys and I'm honestly not gonna argue against you for not liking it. It's just I've read " The Dark Knight Returns" comic book and even though he doesn't necessarily kill in the comic, I understand why he does in the movie so therefore I didn't mind it. Another plus of Ben Affleck's portrayal of The Dark Knight is we got a little bit more of his detective skills and perhaps more of that in future films. Look, I could go on and on about why I think Ben Affleck is the best Batman but I'm sure I've rambled on for long enough. In my opinion, he is the best Batman and will continue to be, I don't believe in the rumors of him wanting to quit. I'm also excited to see him in Justice League and the solo Batman film directed by Matt Reeves.
