My Thoughts On The Bourne Supremacy

Image
My Overall Thoughts On The Bourne Supremacy. So today I finally got around to watching The Bourne Supremacy which is a direct sequel from The Bourne Identity. I'm not sure how long of a gap there was from the first movie to the second but it seems it's only been at most a year. Jason Bourne fell off the grid at the end of the first movie and started living a small quite life with the girl he fell in love with. Though he still gets dreams of a mission he did but he can't seem to remember all of it, all the while he is being set up. Back at the agency he worked for they leave his fingerprints at an assassination setup, at the same time the old man from the first film found where Bourne was and sent an assassin. The man who some sort of higher up in the government was trying to cover all his tracks from Treadstone, but the assassin accidentally kills Bournes girlfriend instead of him. Therefore, the rest of the film is Bourne seeking revenge and trying to understand why

Michelle Williams Cast In Venom Movie

Image
Michelle Williams Cast In Major Role For Venom Movie. Variety reported today that Michelle Williams has been cast alongside Tom Hardy as a possible love interest. The sources say that she will play a district attorney and is supposed to be a lead in the Venom film. Riz Ahmed was also cast a little while ago as a very important character but there has been no details on that. Many fans have speculated that Riz Ahmed will play Carnage, which other than Spiderman, is Venoms biggest enemy. Ruben Fleischer is set to direct this Venom film which is still unconfirmed whether it's part of the Spiderman universe, or it's own thing. Look, I'm skeptical whether this film will work or not because it might not tie in with Spiderman. Therefore, how exactly will it continue if everyone loves this first Venom movie, it's a big question that Sony has yet to answer. Now, let's look at just this single Venom movie for a second, this cast is simply amazing, you have three heavy-h

My Thoughts On The Bourne Identity

Image
My Thoughts On The Bourne Identity. So just the other day I finally sat down and watched the first Jason Bourne movie. Now, I've tried a couple of times to watch the first movie but for some reason it never held my attention. However, I finally said fine, I've heard this trilogy is excellent and I want to see if it's true or not. My friends, it's true, at least for the first movie, don't get me wrong, there are moments that felt a bit slow. Though overall it was a cool story, with a great lead actor who fits the Bourne role perfectly and brings his A-game to it. The one thing I really like is they don't seem to drag on his amnesia into the sequels. At the end of the film he remembers who he was, and decides that he doesn't want to do that anymore. I honestly thought we were going to get three films that revolve around him uncovering who he really is and what happened to him. Now, I may be wrong in my assumption, but as a solo film, The Bourne Identity

Critics Tweet About Blade Runner 2049

Image
Critics Are Allowed To Tweet Their Quick Thoughts On Blade Runner 2049. So today Warner Bros allowed several movie critics to tweet out their quick thoughts after seeing a screening for Blade Runner 2049. Now, the embargo for the film is still up so we will see no reviews until some time next week, but the hype is already starting. Each critic pretty much praised the cinematography of Roger Deacon saying that every shot has a meaning and tone that is just told by visuals. Then, other critics are saying that the story is very amazing, perhaps even answering questions but also asking new ones. All in all the reactions to the first critic screening are overwhelmingly positive with very little to no negatives. This movie is perhaps my second most anticipated film of the year just under Justice League and for a long time I was nervous for this film. Now of course I myself have not watched the new movie but most of the critics, I know their body of work and I'm confident in what t

Maze Runner Death Cure Trailer

Image
My Thoughts On The New Maze Runner Death Cure Trailer. Over the weekend we got a new trailer for the last installment of the Maze Runner series, and, it looks decent. Look, I haven't been a big fan of the last two Maze Runner movies but I do cheer for Dylan O'Brien because I remember I first saw him in Teen Wolf as the comedic relief. Then in season three he took on the role of a bad guy in the show and that's when I really saw what he can bring to the table in terms of acting. So whenever he is in any movie like Deepwater Horizon, American Assassin, or in this case, Maze Runner, I always root him on because he's a very good actor. From the looks of this first trailer for Death Cure, he seems to bring his A-game even though this franchise is all but forgotten by the general movie audience. The reason there is such a gap between The Scortch Trials and this last movie Death Cure, is because Dylan O'Brien suffered serious injuries trying to do his own stunts. The

Getting Owned Online Injustice 2

Image
Getting Owned On Online In Injustice 2. So today I got back to playing Injustice 2 because I was very busy throughout the whole week. Well, safe to say it's still the same old same old when it comes to playing online ranked sets. Now, I'd like to think I have a grasp on the characters I play as and I know at least two combos for each character. Yet, whenever I go online, I pretty much get my nuts kicked in and it is pretty frustrating. My opponents are like top tier players whenever I face them and it takes the fun out of every game. Recently NetherRealm reset all of the Injustice 2 online rankings, so that means everyone was on the same level. Though a bit of time has passed and each player should be matched with someone of equal skill. Perhaps I'm just really bad at the game, or maybe I need to put in more time with one character, either way, I just wanted to share my frustration on this topic. I watch videos on each character I play as trying to understand their qu

My Hope For Inhumans

Image
My Hope That The Inhumans Might Actually Be Good. So with the end of September just around the corner, that means the Inhumans tv show will debut on the 29th. Now I'm not sure if you've heard of all the reviews for the first two episodes that you could go to see in IMAX, it turns out the show is really bad. From all the reviews I've watched, or listened to, the show just falls flat in grand IMAX spectacle and has uninteresting characters. Which to me sounds like a damn nightmare because I actually love the Inhumans way more than the X-Men and I had hope for this show. This could've been the next Game Of Thrones with all the political themes from the popular show. The Inhumans was actually gonna be a movie later on in the Marvel timeline but they even hired Vin Diesel to Star as Black Bolt. Now, that was before Bob Iger got Kevin Feige (top Marvel producer) and Jeff Leob (television producer) to sit down in a room and decide that Leob will handle all Marvel televis

My Thoughts On IT Movie

Image
My Thoughts On The IT Movie. So for today's blog I just wanted to talk about the new IT movie that I just saw last weekend. Now, I'm not much of a horror film type of guy but this movie really peaked my interest, and my god the story is awesome. So basically this demonic clown can take the form of whatever you fear most and it terrorizes Derry town every 27 years. So that is one big thing that most people take away from the film but to me, it's all about those kids and their relationship with one another. The way the kids act in this movie with each other reminds me so much of how I acted with my friends back in school as well. This movie was genuine when it came to each and every one of the kids and it was so comedic. The kids crack jokes with one another and ball bust with each other and that is truly how kids that age act. I loved Richie's character so much because he's upfront with a comedic presence but he's truly honest, he tells everyone how this is

My Thoughts On Raiden Gameplay Trailer

Image
My Thoughts On The Reveal Trailer For Raiden. So on Sunday during another tournament for Injustice 2, Ed Boon revealed to everyone the first trailer of Raiden. Raiden is the second character coming out for Fighter Pack #2 and my god does he look awesome. Now, the default costume of Raiden looks terrible in my opinion, but the way he fights looks awesome. He looks like a mid to close range fighter, but with a lot of setup such as captain cold. He seems to have a teleport just like in MKX and some lightning traps. He has this rectangular barricade that surrounds the opponent but also another special move that is two lightning balls connected by lightning that can perhaps make opponents to stay crouched so you can do a forward 3. Though what I also did see was a lot of similar combos to Sub-Zero in terms of low and mid hits. So from that perspective I'm getting more and more interested in Raiden because his moves can make you unpredictable. So Raiden does I guess copy in a way f

Petition To Get Rid Of JJ Abrams?

Image
Petition To Get Rid Of JJ Abrams To Direct Star Wars Episode IX  So today it was brought to my attention that there has been a fan petition to fire JJ Abrams as the Episode 9 director. Now, the petition doesn't have that many votes just yet but when he was confirmed to direct Episode 9 there were many fans saying they did not like that choice. So most likely a lot of Star Wars fans will exaggerate and actually sign this ridiculous petition. Look, I don't mind fans expressing their dislike for a director but the only problem these people have is that supposedly JJ Abrams won't bring anything new to the table, really? Sure there were things from The Force Awakens that were similar to the original Star Wars movie but Abrams brought Star Wars back. I've said in previous blogs that JJ Abrams can adapt to his situations so he now has to come up with an ending that will satisfy all fans. Also, look at Lucasfilms track history so far, they have fired four of their previou

Nightwing Director Talks About Practical Effects

Image
The Nightwing Director Chris McKay Talks About Badass Practical Effects. So just the other day Chris McKay who's directing the new Lego Ninjago movie was doing a press tour to promote said movie and got a chance to talk about Nightwing. He talked to Collider News about how he really wants a lot of the movie to have practical effects especially for the fight scenes. He said that whoever gets cast to be Nightwing in the standalone DCEU movie will have to go through vigorous training to prepare for the role. He talked about how that's what makes Nightwing such a badass, is that this guy has no superpowers and not a lot of gadgets to work with so he relies on his combat skills. That's what makes the character so interesting, is because he gets tired and can make mistakes that have drastic consequences from time to time. I don't know about you, but when Chris McKay talked about practical effects, I immediately thought about the Daredevil Netflix show. If they can match

New Hellboy Image

Image
New Hellboy Image Showing Off David Harbour.  So today Mike Mignola went on his Twitter and gave fans a first look of David Harbour as Hellboy. Now, I'm a big fan of Guillermo Del Toro's two Hellboy movies so I was just a little skeptical for the reboot. Though this image put me on cloud 9 and I am more than stoked to see the new Hellboy. The image is just David Harbour in full Hellboy makeup but to see how intense he looks and how much on screen presence he is. My god, this image tells so many things and that's what so great about it, you look at his body and there is so much history on it. There are scars on his body from who knows what, and then he has an important little cross. This is important to the character because of his adopted father who cared for him once he came to Earth as a child and he was very religious. Another important part is that he is destined to destroy the world and bring doom to everyone, but he has faith in his religion and tries his best n

JJ Abrams Will Write And Direct Star Wars Episode. 9

Image
JJ Abrams Is Confirmed To Write And Direct Star Wars Episode IX. Today Disney and Lucasfilm themselves came out to and made a statement saying that JJ Abrams Will be writing and directing the last movie in the new Star Wars trilogy. He'll actually be co-writing Star Wars Episode 9 with Chirs Terrio, who's recent writing project was Batman v. Superman. Apparently a lot of people went on rants today about the big news saying the choice was too safe. Too safe? Since when has making a Star Wars movie or anything within that property been a safe move after the original trilogy? I'm not gonna go on a rant here but I just want to make a point that making any movie within a big franchise is by no means safe, the reason why some movies become big properties is because they brought something new to the table. JJ Abrams in my opinion is a great director with some of his most recent projects being Star Trek, Star Trek Into Darkness, or even Mission Impossible 3. In my opinion, Ab

IT Has Biggest Horror Box Office

Image
IT Has The Biggest Box Office Opening In The Horror Genre. So the box office for this past weekend has come in and without doubt, IT destroyed all of its competition while breaking records. IT made $123 million domestically making it the highest grossing horror film domestically. There are many factors that come into play that made IT such a high grossing film, one of them is what has been out in theatres recently. There hasn't been any big movies put in the past couple of weeks so many movie fans were waiting for something intriguing to come out. What caught most people's attention, was the phenomenal marketing done for the IT movie. No matter if you are a fan of horror movies or not, when you see the IT trailers or spots come on tv, you're automatically interested in some way. Whether that be you are scared out of your mind or really into what you are seeing, the trailers stay with you for a while. I myself am not a big horror fan, but when you pitch me a very intere

Black Manta Gameplay

Image
My Thoughts On The Black Manta Gameplay. So today NetherRealm Studios did a live stream on Twitch, thoroughly revealing their new character Black Manta. Black Manta will be the first character from fighter pack 2 we can play as in Injustice 2. So therefore I wanted to talk about why I'm excited for this new character that comes out on September 12th and why he's an important character. On the Twitch live stream, the man that was explaining how Black Manta works and showing off all his moves, he said that Black Manta is a great mid-range fighter and very useful for anti-zoning. This was music to my ears because if their is one thing I do not like at all about Injustice 2, it is all the zoners who are not even that good at it, but just have that one move that is easy for them to use. Look, I have nothing against zoning, I myself learned how to zone with Doctor Fate, but, I also learned all his combos and moves because I didn't want to be one-dimensional. If you are a zo

Will Thor Ragnarok Be Good

Image
Will Thor Ragnarok Be A Great Marvel Installment? For today's topic I just wanted to discuss either or not I think Thor Ragnarok will actually be good. Now, I'm not the biggest Thor fan but I did enjoy the first Thor movie and honestly could never get through the second. To me, either film was nothing special but I always liked the relationship between Thor, Loki, and Odin. In some ways I can relate to their relationship because it's two sons who aren't necessarily trying to one up each other, but earn their fathers approval of everything they do. There's just something that makes a son want to know without little doubt that their father is proud of them, and I think that's what works excellently in each film, unfortunately, I feel like that's the only thing that works. To me, a lot of the characters are bland, even sometimes Thor himself isn't much of an interesting character , but it's always had the potential hidden away. That's why I th

Gavin O'Connor To Direct Suicide Squad 2

Gavin O'Connor Is In Talks To Direct Suicide Squad 2. Today Variety reported that Gavin O'Connor signed on to write the script for Suicide Squad 2. Variety also reported that O'Connor may direct the film as well since he has worked with Warner Bros. For The Accountant. O'Connors last two films were The Accountant and Warrior, both in my opinion were great movies so without doubt, I'd like to see him direct this new movie. Though I must state once again, he is only signed on to write the script for Suicide Squad 2, so all this talk about him directing is just speculation. Warner Bros. also confirmed that David Ayer is without doubt, not coming back in any way to Suicide Squad 2. There have been many big names attached to Suicide Squad 2, one that I really like was Mel Gibson was rumored to direct. I think Gibson would've been the perfect choice to direct this movie because the film needs someone who can't get bullied into putting things he doesn't wan

Will Leonardo DiCaprio Be The Joker?

Image
Leonardo DiCaprio As The Joker In Origin Movie. So during the weekend The Hollywood Reporter tan a rumor about how Warner Bros. is looking to get Leonardo DiCaprio to play the Joker. What was rumored was that Warner Bros. wanted to use Martin Scorsese to help bring in DiCaprio to star in the Joker Origin Movie. Scorsese has partnered with DiCaprio in so many past films like Wolf Of Wall Street, The Aviator, and Shutter Island, so they work great as a film duo. Though the problem is that Scorsese isn't directing this origin movie, Todd Phillips (directed The Hangover) is directing it so with that, we probably won't see DiCapio as the Joker. If Scorsese was directing this upcoming film, then that will be a different story because that would of course help bring in DiCaprio since at this point he can pick whatever project he wants. DiCaprio has been offered so many opportunities to be in a comic-book films but he's such a high-caliber actor he needs the perfect role. Wou

Best Denis Villeneuve Movie

Image
Best Denis Villeneuve Movie To Date. For today's topic I wanted to talk about which movie Villeneuve directed, that is my favorite. Now, I haven't seen all of his films but I've seen a few, mostly his recent ones so I probably won't change my mind until his new film comes out. So I've actually been giving this some thought, the reason is because a lot of his recent films are great, like Sicario, Prisoners, Arrival, and Enemy. Those are the movie I've seen of his, and for me it came down to Prisoners and Arrival. I really liked the other two, especially Enemy because I'm a big fan of films that dive into human psychology such as Requeim For A Dream, but the movie seemed a bit too complex. Now, my favorite film Denis Villeneuve film is Arrival, starring Amy Adams and Jeremy Renner, it's also his most recent film. Arrival tells such an interesting story because it's about humans coming in first contact with aliens and us trying to learn their lang

Deckard Is A Replicant Theory

Image
My Thoughts On Deckard Being A Replicant Theory.  So for today's topic I wanted to discuss the theory of Deckard being a Replicant in Blade Runner. I know that technically it's never been confirmed that Deckard is a replicant or not but for this blog Imma go off the assumption his is a replicant. So let's say he is a replicant, why isn't he killed by the Blade Runners in the film since replicants aren't allowed on Earth anymore? Could it possibly be because he was programmed to hunt down other replicants and retire them as some sort of expirement? Perhaps to see if replicants can be used again to retire all the old models and have a new generation of replicants come back to Earth. It could make sense because Earth is in an apocalyptic state with nothing but wastelands and pollution. Now, how can Deckard be a replicant without knowing, the film does a good job explaining why perhaps he doesn't realize he's a replicant. The reason is because replicants
