Godzilla 2 Easter Egg

Director For Godzilla 2 Teases Orignal Movie Easter Egg.

So yesterday Michael Dougherty tweeted out an image that can be considered fan service or an actual plot point for Godzilla 2. The image showed the "Oxygen Destroyer" from the original Godzilla that came out in 1954. There was no real context to the tweet, all that was written was "Day 41 @GodzillaMovie". So with that we have nothing but speculation going around about the significance of the Oxygen Destroyer.

Now, perhaps Director Michael Dougherty is just giving fans of Godzilla an Easter egg so people understand he admires the original movie. Or is he hinting that the Oxygen Destroyer will play a big part for Godzilla 2? If you don't know Godzilla 2 has a name place holder titled "Godzilla: King of Monsters". As well as from various reports saying this next movie will pit Godzilla against some of his classic monster foes from the original. I have watched the first Godzilla movie that this one is continuing from so I'm a little skeptical that we may just get teases of the monster fights and not get to see all out battles.

Another thing I'm worried about is the director Michael Dougherty, the last film he directed was "Krampus" which was not critically well received. The movie he directed before that did get a fan following, the movie was "Trick'r Treat" and was received decently. Though he does seem optimistic about directing Godzilla 2 and he has surrounded himself with a great cast. The standouts of the cast are Milly Bobby Brown (Stranger Things), Vera Farmiga (The Conjuring), and Kyle Chandler (Dredd and Star Trek). The movie comes out March 22nd 2019. As always thank you for taking time out of your day to read this blog and please comment and share if you liked this topic I discussed.
