Variety reported today that Michelle Williams has been cast alongside Tom Hardy as a possible love interest. The sources say that she will play a district attorney and is supposed to be a lead in the Venom film. Riz Ahmed was also cast a little while ago as a very important character but there has been no details on that. Many fans have speculated that Riz Ahmed will play Carnage, which other than Spiderman, is Venoms biggest enemy. Ruben Fleischer is set to direct this Venom film which is still unconfirmed whether it's part of the Spiderman universe, or it's own thing.
Look, I'm skeptical whether this film will work or not because it might not tie in with Spiderman. Therefore, how exactly will it continue if everyone loves this first Venom movie, it's a big question that Sony has yet to answer. Now, let's look at just this single Venom movie for a second, this cast is simply amazing, you have three heavy-hitters with Tom Hardy, Riz Ahmed, and Michelle Williams. Each actor or actress is known for not just signing onto to something just for a paycheck, but because they believe the script and characters a really intriguing. Michelle Williams has been nominated for four Oscars already and for Sony to land this amazing actress really says something about this Venom movie they're trying to make.
Let's look at another actor for a second, Tom Hardy, he is notorious for being very picky in the roles he chooses. Though I can say without a doubt, he brings his A-game in every single movie he's in even if he has very little screen time. So now this Venom movie is starting to get some traction, and with it, it will start to get everyone's attention because of this cast.
